After seeing Nico71's lovely technic congreve clock I just had to build one myself. I did adjust it to my taste, of course, so this is a little more minimalistic. Figuring it all out was a ball! This is a very nice type of mechanism. The rolling wheel serves as a constant time event, which drives the actual clock gear train. It is not as constant as it should be, though :-) The clock mechanism itself has a geneva mechanism for the hour hand, so it's a jumping hour. One thing is still bugging me... it eats energy like crazy. If you wind it it will run for about two minutes, tops, so it's not a very practical clock! Some may wonder about the base: this is not an official lego part, it's a minutebot base.
