Upstaging Lighting & Transport Carried Taylor Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour & Models of the Trucks Upstaging Inc. Lighting and Transport of Chicago Illinois carried all the gear for Taylor Swift on Reputation World Tour in 2018. I caught the tour in Louisville Kentucky at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Upstaging uses Peterbilt 579 tractors to haul their trailers. I made several customs of the trailers to show off the different wraps Upstaging ran on the tour. Let’s turn the clock back a few years. Before there was not real scenery as we know it today. There were only costumes of sort and a few musical instruments. They were easy to move from place to place. Then came scenery, lighting, and sound equipment. Then somebody had the bright idea “let’s move the stage and chairs as well”. Movement of all this stuff was accomplished first by horse and wagons. Then railroad box cars and finally highway trucks. As more and more stuff was needed.....Well you get the picture. Transportation of performers and their scenery and all other gear is a big business in today’s world. There are two companies specializing in moving large shows around the world. They are Stage Call Specialized Transportation of Apache Junction, Arizona and Upstaging Inc. Lighting and Transport of Chicago, Illinois. There are several other companies that do the same work, but I want to focus on one particular company: Upstaging Inc. Lighting and Transport. I was curious to see Taylor Swift when she came to Louisville Kentucky to put on her Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018. She performed in the Papa John’s Stadium in Louisville. I was most interested in the amount of scenery, stages, and lighting set up as well as the sound system. By the way the sound was excellent. The show brought the stage, chairs, platforms, the led backdrop, lights, sound system, and band equipment. They brought everything but the kitchen sink. Truth be told there probably was one of those in there somewhere. How did they bring it? By truck of course. Taylor employed Upstaging Inc. Lighting and Transport to move her stuff from place to place. To accomplish this monumental feat, the company used 67 semi-trucks and trailers. You should have seen the sea of trucks. To complete the tour marketing, Upstaging wrapped all 67 truck trailers with custom full-side and back door graphics specific to the Reputation Tour. They even made 2 different graphics for the tour trailers and a third special graphics for the Merch trailer. Upstaging has been in business for over 40 years producing and transporting some of the most spectacular shows in the world. Offering services from start to finish for every event, they have provided live event services, trucking, lighting, and fabrication for music’s biggest stars including Bob Seger, AC/DC, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, and of course Taylor Swift, among many others Since 1972. When it comes to trucks Upstaging provides the finest quality company owned tractors and trailers, complete with reliable professional drivers. They use Peterbilt 579 trucks for reliability. Afterall with the grueling schedule of a concert tour, truck break downs are not an option. This is my small Upstaging fleet that I made. They're all custom trucks. Not available. And I didn't have the right Peterbilt 579s that Upstaging runs, so I did the best I could with red trucks. Cause Upstaging runs red trucks. I've got two 2018 Freightliner Cascadias, two Kenworth T-2000s and one Mack Anthem. They've all got the different trailers that were used on the Reputation Tour. I've got two different van trailers to pick. Both different colors that they used at the time. They had a white trailer and a black trailer. And then I've also got one of the merch trailers that sells the Official Tour Merchandise. The Taylor Swift concert was amazing and Upstaging Inc didn’t disappoint in transporting all the gear to 36 different cities in 7 countries on 4 continents.
