BMW E30 318i - M30B35 build up This car started life as a 318i with a M40 4 cylinder. It came to us with a 185000km on the clock. We first went with a M20 engine then later opted for the M30B35. We bought a donor E32 735i for the setup, however, it was an automatic. We then sourced a 260 Getrag from a E34 535i with its flywheel, new clutch added to the mix mated to a custom ratio LSD. Our goal was to maintain an OEM look as if it had come of the factory line in that shape. The original OEM electrical bits such as the airflow meter, ICV etc were used as dummies to maintain that look. The Ecu is that of an aftermarket unit wired in to the std engine harness.
