Mix until well combined. Assemble the Wontons: Lay a wonton wrapper flat on your work surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center of the wrapper. Dip your finger in water and run it along the edges of the wonton wrapper to moisten. Fold the wonton wrapper over the filling to form a triangle, pressing the edges together to seal. Make sure there are no air pockets inside the wonton. For extra security, you can also bring the two opposite corners together and pinch them, but this step is optional. Fry the Wontons: Heat oil in a deep fryer or a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry the wontons in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan, for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the wontons from the oil and drain them on paper towels. Serve: Serve the crispy crab & cream cheese wontons hot with your choice of dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour sauce, plum sauce, or a simple soy sauce and rice vinegar mixture. Tips: Filling Variations: Feel free to adjust the filling according to your taste. Some like to add a pinch of sugar for a slight sweetness, or a dash of sesame oil for depth of flavor. Sealing the Wontons: Ensure the edges are sealed tightly to prevent the filling from leaking out during frying. Baking Option: For a healthier version, you can bake the wontons at 400°F (200°C) for 10-15 minutes or until golden and crispy, spraying them lightly with oil before baking.
