The Forfar Witches: Scotland's Final Hunt (The Occult)

Consider supporting me on Patreon:   / liathwolf   In the year 1563, the first official Scottish witchcraft art was introduced to the country by the newly established church of Scotland. This act would make it illegal to practice, witchcraft, enchantment, Charms or Sorcery, on pain of death. It also outlawed consulting with or aiding witches. These laws were an attempt to wipe out the old non-Christian beliefs and practices of the Scottish people, an attempt that unfortunately quite successful. The witch craft act led to over 100 years of hunting, torturing, and killing, 1000s of innocent men, women and children, to appease the new god and his devout followers. Throughout this period, there were a number of great witch hunts, which were backed by the throne and the church. They spawned a kind of mass insanity within the Scottish people, where black magic could be seen in every shadow and evil witches could be found in every village, practicing there cruel and twisted worship of a dark and insidious lord. As the witches were found and killed, the number of sightings began to dwindle, some truly thought that soon all dark magic would be banished from the land. The final great witch hunt of Scotland took place between 1660 and 1663. During which many women were hunted, tortured and put to death; The tragic events I cover today occurred during that dark time in Scottish history. and all took place in a small county town in Angus.
