The earliest version of Kiddy Kong's Showtime (2020 Donkey Kong Country animation, now fan game)

This is Kiddy Kong's Showtime in its earliest version. The project was born as an animation like many things I did for the channel. But then it became a very good concept for a continuation of the Donkey Kong Country trilogy. I want to warn you that this video contains a lot of different things from what I usually post, mainly in the form of artstyle, the way of creating sprites and etc. You can also see my inexperience with fan game programming. I still didn't know how to use Game Maker like I do today. All phases of K. Rool getting up are different objects, something that today I can only do with 1. History Firstly the game was called "Donkey Kong Country 4 - Kiddy Kong's Showtime". After it became a game, I renamed it just "Kiddy Kong's Showtime" to avoid conflict with a "Donkey Kong Country 4" project that is being developed and I was honored to participate in. KST is now its own Kiddy Kong game alongside its Chunky Kong sibling. The two will live the greatest adventures together to save the Kong family from the clutches of K. Rool, with a new skin. The Earliest Version The last update to this source was in 2021 (Today's update to this source was only to add sound effects, as everything seen in the video was silent), but I already started in 2020 programming King K. Rool's final battle, where he would be boxing fighter like in Donkey Kong 64. The reason for the choice is that the animation would portray what DKC4 would be like if it were released on a SNES. So with that, the idea of K. Rool fighting in DK64 would be another one to avoid repetitions. After this engine I used another one, on a copy of a Mario game source that GBFan45 had given me, the same one that appears in "Super Mario Fury World" in one of my videos. This was the best for the moment, and so I started creating scenarios and things for the game. Thinking in detail about each sound effect, environment and things. My friend Alex Silva composed all the songs heard during Kiddy Kong's Showtime (including these first three in the video) and some from Kiddy Kong's Challenge. He was also responsible for the original songs for "Super Mario Advance 5 - Super Mario Bros." And so Kiddy Kong's Showtime began to gain life and recognition, something I didn't expect to happen. Because of him, I met the DKC4 fan game team and was able to make new friends here. Still in development, I was creating new things and bringing back things that were canceled or dropped by the Rare team during the three Donkey Kong Country games. The first thing I made was the Krosshair, which became popular because it was a restoration of an original Rare sprite made for Donkey Kong Country 3, being replaced by robot Karbines, and then by real Karbines (a real 3D owl holding a cannon ). Edu (Buiu) Alves helped me a while later by making more frames for my sprite, seen in videos from a while ago when I was testing the game's new source engine originally made by GBFan45 (known as Donkey Kong Land Engine). The game was going to the third world but my computer was much worse than the one I'm using, so I had problems not only with the slow recording process, but with many other cases. The project was paused. When I returned, I used the new edited source engine to later combine it with the old one, but then I thought it would be better to redo everything from the beginning. It wouldn't be necessary to start everything over in general, as some sprites, some music and scenarios are already done. It would just be necessary to reconfigure. So that's how I say that Kiddy Kong's Showtime will be remade again using the new source engine, the one being used in "Kiddy Kong's Challenge" (in the final stages of development) and "Donkey Kong vs. K. Rool Challenge" (released). And at the end of the video I make a joke just showing the rest of the animation source engine rooms, which is Hello Engine 4. There's nothing left besides another rejected Diddy Kong project from 2019 and rooms from the "Hello Engine 4" source. " which is a Mario source engine. Until the next post! I will also post the Kiddy Kong's Challenge soundtrack. News During the new development of Kiddy Kong Showtime I will make changes to K. Rool, who will be using a different skin. And in 2024, in the same way I did with "New Donkey Kong Jr", I will make a special demo just with K. Rool's boxing battle but in an improved and complete way, within the new source engine. I will do this so you have the opportunity to play the old battle version of the game. Content made non-profit, with love for the Donkey Kong Country franchise. Characters belong to Nintendo.
