Renowned for its panoramic windows, the TranzAlpine train treated us to a visual spectacle, weaving through the Canterbury Plains, ascending the majestic Southern Alps, and concluding its scenic route at the west coast's Greymouth. The return journey offered fresh perspectives on sights like Lake Sarah, nestled between Mount Horrible and the Puketeraki Range. Despite exhaustion, this TranzAlpine adventure stands out as a highlight in our New Zealand chapter, and we extend our sincere thanks to Great Journeys & the TranzAlpine train for hosting us on this unforgettable journey. As we bid farewell to 2023, a year that took us from the beaches of Mexico to the mountains of New Zealand, we express gratitude to all who joined us on this nomadic journey.
