A Weekend in Joshua Tree

Way back in September, I spent a long weekend my friend Helene in Joshua Tree, California. What a beautiful park! We stayed at the Alchemist Retreat in Yucca Valley, which was about 15 minutes from the park entrance. We broke up our days visiting the park and checking out the shops and restaurants in Joshua Tree, Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley. The days were still pretty hot in September, so we limited our park time to short hikes. Then we’d head to town and come back to the park around 4. Come along as we see Arch Rock, Skull Rock, the Cholla Cactus Garden (twice!) and meet hairstorian Jeff Hafler, owner of the Beauty Bubble Salon & Museum, which houses thousands of pieces of beauty memorabilia.
