A legendary camera with a cult following, it still lives up to all the hype. Here's my quick review of the camera, with some commentary and sample pictures. CORRECTION: I said that the D700 doesn't work with AF-P lenses. My mistake, it's compatible with FX (Full Frame) AF-P lenses, but not DX (Crop) AF-P lenses. TL;DR the only two quirks when working with AF-P FX lenses: - The camera does not offer the "Manual focus ring in AF mode" custom setting for enabling/disabling focus ring operation in autofocus mode. - If the standby timer is allowed to expire, the focus position will change when the timer is restarted, requiring refocusing. Specifying longer standby times is recommended for manual focus photography (remote photography, fixed photography using a tripod, interval timer photography, etc.) and in other situations in which the shutter may not be released immediately after focusing.
