Chaos broke out at Wanglobo Primary school; a polling station in Otwal Sub county after goons allegedly, forcefully gained access to the polling station, confiscated ballot books and ticked them before stuffing them back to the ballot box. Voting was stopped at the polling station for hours until fresh electoral materials were replaced. UPC party president Jimmy Akena says NRM is behind the rigging but Dr Tanga Odoi who was on ground refutes the claim. The polling station has a total of 550 registered voters. Akena accused the NRM party of rigging elections saying NRM is afraid of losing the by-election. Although, Dr. Tanga Odoi, the Chairperson EC of NRM denied the claim. This visibly angered Akena together with other opposition politicians slipped into bitter exchanges. POPs voting then resumed at 3pm after the returning officer Richard Onoba delivered a new voting material for a fresh election. Earlier in other polling stations voting was also disrupted by the morning downpour. A Few began turning up at about mid-day to cast their votes POPs Meanwhile, the polling assistant of Akaoedebe Market was withdrawn from duty in the morning for turning up drunk. By press time tallying was still ongoing to ascertain who becomes the next member of parliament for Oyam county North. Four candidates are in the race including NRM’s Samuel Engola, UPC’s Eunice Apio Otuku, FDC’s Newton Freddy Okello and Daniel Okello for National Unity Platform.
