#Amtrak #CaliforniaZephyr (Episode 9/27 of our 2019 adventure, v2.0) -After our stretch during the Reno stop, Robert & Wendy return to their Roomette to nap, while Chuck & I head to the Sightseer-lounge car to search for seats to view the ascent into the Sierra-Nevada mountains. A nice young lady shares a booth with us, allowing us to record the views on the North side. As we near the summit, Robert & Wendy join us for some games of cards, then lunch in the dining car, before an arrival in Sacramento 45 minutes early! Who expected that? ...More time to spend at the California State Railroad Museum, which will be in our next episode! Video contents: 0:00:00 Introduction. 0:01:43 Departing Reno, we make our way back to the surface & out of the trench. 0:05:00 Walk to the Sightseer-lounge car to enjoy the ascent into the high Sierras. 0:07:37 Location of the first train robbery in the West!
