Project Manager Chris Bayne | OneRoyal's LARGEST LAX Project Ever!

Chris Bayne is Royal Electric's project manager on the Los Angeles International Airport Runway 6L-24R Exits & Runway Rehabilitations Project. Currently in its third phase, this project is #OneRoyal's largest ever at ‪@LAXairport1‬ with a contract value over $37 million. We have come a long way since the early 1980s when Field Operations Manager Steve Romero led a terminal and apron job with a two-person crew! Chris started his career with Royal Electric 19 years ago as he was finishing a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology at ‪@CSULB‬. At the time Chris was in the second round of interviews for quality control manager positions with Boeing, Raytheon, and Toyota on their production lines. When he took a position as a purchasing agent with Royal Electric it was a shot in the dark. Even though coming into the #construction industry with no experience, the dynamic nature of the job and opportunity to work outside of a cubicle attracted Chris. Chris’s first project with Royal was the Construction Improvements to Runway 12-30 job at ‪@LongBeachAirport‬. Coming aboard as the runway portion was wrapping, he was handling some financials with extra work bills as well as purchasing and picking up emergency material needs. The job was later extended with a change order for an above ground emergency generator. Chris went on to assist with projects in Van Nuys and Los Alamitos before being promoted to a project engineer in 2005. Receiving another promotion to project manager the following year, Chris hasn't looked back. Over the past decades he has worked on projects for the majority of the airports in Southern California.
