While I personally love this record and have enjoyed so many songs on it, I just don't think it deserves to win Album of the Year at the 2024 Grammys. Despite smash hits like Anti-Hero, Karma, Bejeweled, and Lavender Haze...there is just something 'missing' about the songwriting on this album. That's not to say it's bad! But when we compare this to Taylor's other AOTY winning records: Fearless, 1989, and folklore....it feels ridiculous to place Midnights in such hallowed company. In today's video I offer my rationale on why the eras tour, Taylor mania, and midnights should not be confused.
