This is a remix of Desert Dream - a 2-disk Amiga 500 demo production from Kefrens. It's widely regarded as one of the most competent and stylish Amiga demos ever released and has been reproduced on Commodore 64 and other platforms, see links below. 👽 Originally released at The Gathering 1993, where DD won 1st place in the demo competition. The production itself was primarily carried by Laxity, who composed original soundtracks and coded most of the parts. 🚀 Why did I do this? I randomly stumbled across the amazing remix by PsychNerD and instantly fell in love. I was compelled to make this video remix, for me. So far, my feedback to myself has been overwhelmingly positive. Since the soundtrack remix is considerably longer (40%) than the original soundtrack/demo runtime, I heavily padded the video with routines/parts from other Kefrens demos. I tried to mostly use parts/demos where Laxity was credited. I mostly succeeded in mostly doing that. 📺 Think of this remix as a music video for PsychNerD's soundtrack: 19mins and 11 seconds of early-90's Amiga demoscene feels, with the occasional slightly modernish paint job to soft reboot some stuff. Because reasons. 💾 Pro-Tip? You'll experience the (by far) least amount of compression artifacts and glitches, if you play the video in 4K resolution.
