Due to the City of Perry's dispatch being disbanded in 2023, I decided to head back to the STL-10 in perry to find out if there have been any changes since dispatch has been transferred to Dallas County. I was originally planning to film this earlier, but due to weather and the tragedy at the high school that happened in January, it was best for me to hold off for a while. I chose to go on a first Saturday due to me being unsure if Perry's sirens are still tested weekly after the county took over. This siren, along with the rest of Perry's system only sounded for a short time like when they were under the control of Perry's now-defunct dispatch agency. I am still unsure if Perry's sirens are still tested weekly or if they have switched to only monthly testing, so please comment if you know about any changes in the testing schedule for Perry's sirens. ________________________________ • Siren Make & Model: Federal Signal STL-10 • County: Dallas • Location: 908 Willis Ave, Perry, IA • Signal: Short Alert • Testing: Unsure if weekly tests are still conducted, but known to sound on the First Saturday at Noon.
