How to Eliminate hips' Early Extension - Right Heel Down Drill

A few weeks ago we looked at the Space invading Hips which are also called Early Extension of the body upwards prior to impact. This issue has always been a problem of Cassie's and many amateur golfers as in an effort to get speed in their swing, they jump upwards before the club gets to the ball. As we have seen from Cassie's game this results in the '2-way miss' issues of blocking and hooking. Golfers often don't understand why they or how they can have both problems with the same swing! The issue is the hips early extension and invading the space where the arms should be swinging through (under the shoulders) - but as their is no space for the arms to do that they work around the hips opening the face causing a spinney weak slicy block OR if the body and brain realise this issue then they flip the face to negate this and if the timing works they can hit it straight but if not they get draw hooks as the clubface has closed to early! Either way it is no way to paly golf (having no idea which miss will come that day or even that hole). This simple practice drill with the right heel down is essential to stop this early extension and just 10-15 balls at the start of every range session should gradually train the body to stop jumping toward the ball before impact.
