Quality of Life For Every Orphan | Yasmine ElHagry | TEDxCairo

Yasmine has been working and volunteering in the field of “Children without Parental Care; especially orphans; for the past 14 years. In 2009, Yasmine made a very important life decision when she decided to join a newly starting national NGO; Wataneya Society. She decided to leave her position at that time as an associate creative director at one of the well-established advertising agency to fulfill her dream in supporting orphans through development and not charity. After six years of hard working, Wataneya Society Team managed to make a drastic and positive change to “The Children without Parental Care” sector in Egypt, and soon in the Arab Region through following & applying a scientific methodology. Yasmine El Hagry is the head of Advocacy and Awareness department at Wataneya Society for the Development of Orphanages. She studied Mass Communication at the American University in Cairo (AUC). She strongly believes that each child deserves a happy and a safe childhood. She attributes this belief, which turned into a life mission, to her caring parents, who provided her with a happy childhood that positively affected her personality. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
