06/04/2015 Already You're Getting On Me Nerves

This Easter Monday Rub clip features JB, Garry, Spud and Damo with the moment we've all been waiting for. Brian Taylor has entered, with all the fanfare of a Spud entrance on Grand Final day. And it's Spud who cops BT's wrath first and foremost – his first words on his first broadcast since returning from a five year absence are "Shut up, Spud. I am sick of you, already. I've had a gutful. Already you're getting on me nerves." He admits to being away in solitary confinement, though it sounded more like being in a retirement village (of his time at 3AW). So why did he leave? He tries to dance around it, tries to deny it, but eventually admits it – money. Plain and simple. So move on, he says. The body language on display shows he's cowering away from the Spud Regal when he pulls out an article and quotes BT as saying he was a "founding member" of the Triple M call team. And important to note than none of these guys were founding members, so give a man credit where it's due. Spud looks different to BT, he's trimmed down and wearing tight t-shirts with his hair all done up. Don't forget the personal attacks that came Triple M's way. BT tries to deny it but we have the audio of it – cut to 2012 when BT bagged Spud on air at 3AW followed by Spud's retort. It's a mini-From The Vault. Listen to the entire clip by clicking the link on the video. After that, BT thinks they can't repair their friendship. But there's more audio – remember 2013 when BT dropped a "3AW reeeeeeeeecks football!?" That clip is also linked on the video for your viewing pleasure. Even Brian has a chuckle at that one. Apparently, his former colleagues haven't wished him luck today, but he admits to liking them... well, a couple of them. I wonder if there's something in that comment. Garry compares BT's time at 3AW with a full forward being forced to play midfield – he just couldn't cope with a new role (although Brian reminds them that he won an award as a commentator in his time there – but these guys conveniently forget those details). Garry wonders how it used to go in the Over 55s when Brian would take a break during the third quarter as he used to do at Triple M. Jim used to have pick up the slack because BT was knackered, but at 3AW, poor Tim Lane had to fill that role and he didn't do it well. The boys then introduce BT to the Wolfpack, which wasn't around when BT used to be at Triple M, and he doesn't really understand how it works. He wants their names and addresses. They're all very happy to have him back and they're treated to some of Brian's best work at the Ms – the Anzac Day clash when Zahrakis kicked the winning goal in the last seconds. Listen to that golden stuff – it's brilliant. And we've sure missed it. The No. 1 moment ever, says Jim. Before they wrap up the segment, Jim wonders if they will bring back that brilliant series from 2009 – The World According to the International Cool Breeze. And guess what? He's working on another book – could that be a future series? All content owned by Southern Cross Austereo.
