MSME Registration is known in various names such as SSI Registration, Udyog Aadhar Registration and now from 1st July, 2020, it is named as Udyam Registration. The Udyam registration for MSMEs can be performed completely online with just Aadhaar and is based on self-declaration, as per a notification issued by the MSME ministry. As per the Government's estimates, there are more than 63.05 million micro industries, 0.33 million small Industries, and about 5,000 medium enterprises in India. Uttar Pradesh has largest number of MSMEs with 14.20 percent of the total MSMEs in India followed by West Bengal with 14 percent of MSMEs and Tamil Nadu 8 percent at third position in the Country. Revised Msme Classification: Micro Small and Medium Enterprises are segregated in 3 different types. The existing MSME classification was based on the criteria of investment in plant and machinery and even based on Turnover. The criteria is mentioned below: • Micro Enterprises - Investment in plant and machinery or equipment is below 1 Crore and the turnover is not more than 5 Crore • Small Enterprises - Investment in plant and machinery or equipment is below 10 Crore and the turnover is not more than 50 Crore • Medium Enterprises - Investment in plant and machinery or equipment is below 50 Crore and the turnover is not more than 250 Crore What are the benefits of being a MSME License Holder 1. Once an organization gets registered under MSME, then it has the eligibility to utilize various schemes and benefits of Government. 2. The MSME organizations are eligible for interest rate rebate and collateral-free bank loans as per government regulations 3. Udyam registration helps in getting government tenders 4. MSME holders are eligible for special consideration in Trade fairs 5. The license holders can easily get approval for Government licenses and registrations. What are the Documents that are required for filing Udyam registration process is based on self-declaration, and there is no further requirement to upload any documents, certificates, papers, or proofs.
