The SPAN Panel and SPAN Drive are a perfect compliment to Tesla Solar and Powerwall. The integration is better than I expected, but understandable given the Span founder, Arch Rao, was a Tesla engineer. After you order, you get assigned a project manager, mine was Dan Shea. Also super cool. He coordinated the install of my Span Panel and Span Drive with a Span certified installer who is a licensed electrician. They take care of all the permits and scheduling of inspections. Rules and alerts, for example, let me know if my battery falls below 50% or if my power usage looks unusual. Or I'd like to set an alert if a circuit goes above or below a certain power level. - "You are now 100% self powered" - with the option to have confetti and sound (make it fun!) - Show local sunset and sunrise times - "Based on today's forecast and your power usage, your battery should hit 100% before sunset" - "It looks like you are away from home, would you like to disable these circuits?" - Subscribe to certain events in the Feed, "Your panel door opened" would be handy if the panel was outside. That should come up on my phone alert. 2. Recognize devices and appliances individually for each circuit. If I turn on the toaster, it knows that it's a toaster based on its power profile. 3. Have a web page or view for a device mounted on the wall or streamed to a monitor to see stats in real time. A good reminder for the family to save power. - Add member "view only" permission (I want to give this view to the kids) - "Kids room used 10% less energy this week!" (drives good energy behavior, teaches them early) - add a tip - "don't forget to turn off the lights" (right now, I'm the only one in the family interested at looking at this app - the rest of the family could care less) 5. Vacation mode: Turn off these circuits designated here. Prevents vampire drain. - "While you were on vacation, you saved X amount or offset carbon emissions by X" 6. Home: Span drive icon next to blue house - to show how much power is going to the car. 7. Stats: Add Drive stats on stats page - Multiple car profiles. Main reason I got the Drive is to charge 3 different Teslas in our household. - Depending who uses the most out of the Drive, they may want to park closer to it! 8. Feed: Add highest solar output for the week - battery max charged, - when was the battery used most? 9: Settings: Enhancement suggestion form or to a page where users can vote for ERQs 10: Offline mode: Have an option to control the Span via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth in case internet is out. - a built in web page to show the same functionality from the app. Similar to Kiosk mode. 11: Have an open API so that it can be controlled securely from other apps or smart hubs and can send data to other apps. #smartpanel #spandrive #tesla #electricalpanel
