Kay Adams Welcomes in the Caleb Williams Era in Chicago, Talks QB's Hard Knocks Appearance

We are just 6 days away from rookies reporting in Chicago…and I think seeing Caleb Williams take the field has me more pumped than anything else that’s going to happen this offseason. And seeing Caleb up on the board last night on Hard Knocks – during his combine interview with the Giants – only got me more fired up. It’s the first time we really got an insight into how his football mind works, you saw his smarts and confidence on display, and hearing Daboll comparing the play Caleb drew up to what he used to run with Brett Favre had to give you goosebumps if you’re a Bears fan. Now, it’s not necessarily a given yet that we’ll see him right out of the gates – the Bears still haven’t been able to sign Caleb or Rome Odunze for that matter. They need to get those done soon and make sure those guys are in the building for day 1. But once that’s taken care of…and Caleb takes that field…I think the scene in Lake Forest for this Bears training camp is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever witnessed. This is the moment Chicago has been waiting for and I know that fan base is not going to take it for granted. And the expectations for Caleb are already sky high…I’m not trying to heap more onto him…but I really do think he’s in a situation to give us one of the most special rookie seasons we’ve seen from a QB. Yes, I think there’s a good chance we could see him join this list of the only 5 rookie QBs to ever throw for 4,000 yards in a season – which would also make him the first Bears QB of any age to do it – and maybe even push Andrew Luck for that top spot. In case you’re wondering, FanDuel Sportsbook set his line at just 3,450-and-a-half yards by the way. And I think he has an even better shot at cracking this list for the most touchdown passes we’ve seen from a rookie. FanDuel has his line at 22-and-a-half right now…but with DJ and Keenan and Rome and Kmet I think he’s going to crush that. I know…it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t translate to wins…but I honestly think it will. I think he’s that special a talent and I think Ryan Poles has done such a great job supporting him that this will make him the most successful rookie season we’ve seen from a #1 overall pick.
