The best Moro reflex integration exercise

Kathy Johnson of Pyramid of Potential shows the correct way to do the Starfish exercise and why it works so quickly for 90% of people. Read on - Dear Kathy, I recently found your you tube video on integrating the moro reflex and I would really appreciate your advice. I am a 40 year old female with a retained moro reflex and I tried the starfish exercise for one month. For the first few weeks I got a lot worse, jumping out of my skin whenever someone entered into a room. At the end of the month (and with some complementary therapies to calm my adrenals) my visual moro was much improved and I no longer jump when someone comes into my field of vision. However, my auditory moro is still really bad, or perhaps even worse, and with shrieking children in the house I feel like a nervous wreck all the time. Should I do the starfish exercise for longer or should I look at doing something else to integrate this reflex? Answer: I’m so sorry that the exercise did not give you immediate relief. Yes, it may have been too much. Most people do not have any adverse reaction. So, here is my suggestion: 1. Take one week off. 2. When you restart, do only one, and for the first week do only the legs with the breathing. Sit up straight, not leaning back, and do not move head or body. 3. Week 2 add in the arms with the breathing. Keep head up and sit up straight. 4. Week 3 add in the head so that you are doing the entire exercise, but keep your body sitting up straight and only dip your head, do not tilt it back. 5. Week 4 – assuming that the other weeks were good, add in the movement with your upper body. This will stimulate the vestibular/balance system, but by now hopefully you will be able to tolerate it. If you have any adverse reaction, take 3 days off then go back to the step that did not cause any problems. I would love to hear how you do with this!! Sincerely, Kathy Johnson
