Season 4, Episode 23. 12/29/88. A serial rapist and killer is terrorizing the city. When the police arrest a suspect, the real killer calls Elaine to tell her that he can't let someone else take credit for his work. As proof, he kills another woman. He continues to call Elaine, who is terrified at being in the middle of the senseless loss of life. When she sees that there is no other way, she reluctantly participates in the manhunt by setting herself up as a potential target.
