Exploring Boston Park Street T to Downtown Crossing & Theater District

Join me on a vibrant walk through the heart of Boston, starting at the Park Street T stop on Boston Common on May 5, 2024. Our journey begins in the historic Boston Common, where we then make our way into Downtown Crossing, a bustling area known for its shopping and dining options. First, we explore The Corner Food Court, checking out the variety of restaurants and culinary delights it offers. After a quick tour, we loop down one of the charming side streets, making our way back to Boylston Street. Continuing our walk, we head down Washington Street, passing by several historic performance venues: Citizen's Bank Opera House: Originally built in 1928 as the B.F. Keith Memorial Theatre, this venue is a prime example of the vaudeville circuit palace designed by Thomas Lamb. It was restored in 2004 and now hosts Broadway shows and the Boston Ballet (Citizens Opera House) (Boston Tourist | Boston MA). Paramount Theater: Opened in 1932, the Paramount Theater is an Art Deco landmark. It underwent significant restoration and reopened in 2010 as a multi-use performing arts venue, now part of Emerson College (Boston Theater). Modern Theatre of Suffolk University: This historic venue, originally opened in 1914, was restored by Suffolk University and reopened in 2010. It now serves as a space for student performances and public events. Our adventure ends at these iconic landmarks, highlighting Boston's rich cultural and architectural heritage.
