Stone Tower Temple (Zelda Majora's Mask) Metal / Folk Guitar Cover by High Z Productions

Stone Tower Temple (Majora's Mask) folk/metal guitar, ocarina, and mandolin cover by High Z Productions. Majora's Mask is a classic! Ended up learning two new instruments just to do this electric and acoustic cover. ---------- Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/HighZ?sub_c... The inspiration just kept coming. The military style snare symbolizing Ikana, laying multiple instruments like the original, it all just came together. It was so easy to incorporate the Elegy of Emptiness too. Did you hear it at 02:05? How about at 03:08? I can confidently say that after learning how to play both the ocarina and mandolin, I'm not quite cut out for wind instruments. The latter was easy to record with day 1, while the ocarina took several days just to not sound like a third grade recital on. The mandolin fit into the mix so easily, and it was fun experimenting with how out of tune the secondary strings could be to get a sort of chorus effect. Meanwhile the ocarina took many takes as well as some generous EQ-ing. Maybe the next time I try it, I won't use an SM-7b. This was a great chance to try something a little different. I love heavy metal, guitar solos, and brekdowns, but it was so much fun using more acoustic instruments. Would you like to see more musical variety in future songs? And then there's the baroque part. I've been listening to a lot of Bach and Scarlatti lately, and it felt right to put a sort of clean calm break between the solo and the final electric bit. So I gave it a shot and absolutely love the result. Almost wanted to end off the song with more of that style but ultimately chose the soaring leads to end on a high note, so to speak.
