The base price on the 2012 Acura RL $48,200 with the high end RL with the Advance Package going for $56,150. Maybe the best part about the 2012 Acura RL is the 3.7 liter VTEC V-6 engine which makes 300 horsepower and 270 lb-ft. of torque. This engine is pretty high tech featuring a forged crankshaft, alloy cylinder head, drive-by-wire throttle system, and a high flow exhaust. The 6-speed automatic transmission is one of the best in the industry featuring Sequential Sport Shift paddles that add a sporty feel to the RL. This transmission also helps fuel economy which is rated at 17 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway which is good for an AWD car. Speaking of AWD the 2012 Acura RL benefits from an advanced Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system. The computer uses sensors located around the car to measure stuff like wheel speed, the steering angle, and yaw rate. The SH-AWD system then makes adjustments to send power to the wheels that need it most. Power can be sent to the front wheels, rear wheels, or split between the two. Also in tight cornering situations the SH-AWD can send power to a specific wheel. This not only adds to the handling capability of the RL but it also helps in the safety department. On the inside of the 2012 Acura RL resides the best luxury amenities that Acura has to offer. Many of the surfaces are wrapped in leather including the seats which are nice and comfortable. In fact the seats are perforated which allows the heater mechanism warm much better. The seats are also multi-way adjustable. The rear passengers also enjoy a high level of comfort with tons of room, nice comfortable seats, and power sunshades on the widows. The technology found in the Acura RL is top notch. Besides the Bluetooth, there is a wonderful BOSE surround sound stereo system offering clear and crisp sound. The Acura Navigation System features an 8-inch screen that is perfectly integrated into the dash.
