The Gladstone Pottery Museum in Stoke-on-Trent is one of the last remaining examples of a bottle kiln pottery. I was so excited to visit because it is the filming location for The Great Pottery Throw Down. When I arrived I was shocked to find out it was an incredible museum for a social history lover like myself. I thought it was a real hidden gem. You get a real sense of the harsh and dangerous conditions these strong men, women and children worked in to bring beautiful pottery to the world. Visiting details : Entry to the museum is : £8.50 for adults 4-16 Year olds : £5.95 Carer : Free Concessions : £6.95 There is a carpark outside which is free to park. There is a cafe on site which serves drinks and light snacks. The museum is currently owned by Stoke Museums and opening hours vary seasonally.
