The X68000 game, which was released only in Japan, is also a remake of Akumajō Dracula/Castlevania for Famicom Disk System/Nintendo Entertainment System. It is unofficially named as "Akumajō Dracula X68000" and "Castlevania X68000" to differentiate itself from other games in the series that have the same title. The game takes place in 1691, when Simon Belmont set out on an adventure to defeat the evil of Count Dracula, who is terrorizing the area. Count Dracula has risen once more, after a century of rest to terrorize the people of Transylvania. Simon Belmont takes the Vampire Killer whip and once again ascends Castlevania to destroy the Dark Lord and restore peace to Transylvania again. The game was made with a brand new graphics engine, there are new stages and their level of detail has increased a lot, and there is a secondary weapon called Laurel, which is actually a healing item. It is a well done and very competent remake.
