His name has been changed legally to Max Maven, but he still uses "Phil Goldstein" as a pen name for technical writings. Maven began his career in Boston in clubs Spent much of the 1980s performing and headlining in comedy clubs throughout the United States. Consultant for: David Copperfield, Penn & Teller, Siegfried & Roy, and Doug Henning He is a stickler for the history of magic especially as it establishes the originators of ideas.
