Early Years Music Education with Dr Jessica Pitt | CREC

Our Early Years Music Education MA pathway is lead by Dr Jessica Pitt and Dr Julia Partington. The pathway aims to cover all aspects of music in early childhood and to provide an introduction to research methods; it's ideal for anyone who is already working in early years music or who plans to in the future -- in a range of professional capacities: independent workshop leaders, early years educators, music therapists, advisors, community musicians and instrumental teachers. She lectures in Music Education at the Royal College of Music and is a sought after evaluator and researcher. She is a Trustee of MERYC-England and a Research Fellow at the University of Roehampton. Recent publications include a co-authored textbook: “Taking a Learner-Centred Approach to Music Education: pedagogical pathways”. Dr Julia Partington is a prominent music education researcher with a particular interest in early childhood music education and development. For a number of years, she was Programme Leader for Early Years at Sage Gateshead where she was responsible for creating participatory performance and educational musical experiences for young children and families across the North East. It was here that she became interested in developing research and theory to explore her own early childhood music education practice and the practice of others. 👂 STAY UP-TO-DATE 👂 Twitter:   / _crec   Facebook:   / crecbirm   Instagram:   / crec_scitt   📧 GET IN TOUCH 📧 Interested in our MA in Education?
