She lectures in Music Education at the Royal College of Music and is a sought after evaluator and researcher. She is a Trustee of MERYC-England and a Research Fellow at the University of Roehampton. Recent publications include a co-authored textbook: “Taking a Learner-Centred Approach to Music Education: pedagogical pathways”. Dr Julia Partington is a prominent music education researcher with a particular interest in early childhood music education and development. For a number of years, she was Programme Leader for Early Years at Sage Gateshead where she was responsible for creating participatory performance and educational musical experiences for young children and families across the North East.
