Bluthners grands from about 1880 to 1925 (and some beyond) have patent actions and in our opinion have the warmest and richest tone of all pianos. The "Bluthner Patent" action has a pleasing touch and is extremely reliable if regulated correctly, but serious pianists find that it doesn't repeat well and the up-weight is very high, so it makes sense to replace it with a modern roller action.
