RMR 12' Raft (SB-120) and Fishing Frame from Rocky Mountain Rafts

The RMR 12' Raft (SB-120) is a mid-sized, self-bailing boat from Rocky Mountain Rafts. The raft can be outfitted with the FF120 fishing frame from RMR, which is a perfect accessory for boaters who are also anglers. The RMR SB-120 is a versatile raft because it can be used as a fishing rig, a multi-day adventure boat, or a whitewater raft. The 12-foot length makes this raft easier to maneuver than larger boats but still provides plenty of space for people, dogs, or tons of gear. A mid-sized raft allows boaters to easily catch eddies and run smaller rivers when flows are low, and obstacles are present. From a fishing perspective, a 12-foot boat is ideal because the captain can tuck into tight locations where fish may be feeding. A 12-foot raft being used as a drift boat is also lighter and easier to transport than a 13 or 14-foot raft. We love the SB-120 paired with the FF120 frame because it is an affordable fishing raft that is of high-quality. The FF120 fishing frame that fits the SB-120 comes standard with the following specifications: 1-1/4” Sch 40 6063 Anodized Aluminum Frame with Hollaender Speed Rail Fittings RMR custom oar towers, kick bar, lean bar, and anchor system RMR custom removable seat mounting system Adjustable crossbars All hardware for assembly The lean bar is a crucial element of this fishing frame, giving anglers something sturdy to lean on when casting and something reliable to hold on to in turbulent waters. The front passenger can either stand in the front of the boat or sit on RMR’s custom removable seat. The seat is padded, has a high back, and swivels, allowing anglers to quickly change their orientation. The captain uses the kick bar to obtain leverage when a lot of torque is necessary to move the boat quickly. A kick bar is an essential part of any high-quality fishing frame. The anchor system allows the captain to quickly drop an anchor in public locations. It includes a pulley system and brake mechanism, allowing the captain to drop or pull the anchor on the fly. An anchor system is crucial when fishing because it allows anglers to post up in locations to target feeding fish or to re-tie on some new tackle. The oar towers can be customized to sit on the inside or the outside of the side rails, depending on the captain’s preference. A 9-foot oar is recommended for a 12-foot boat such as the SB-120. To assemble the frame, an Allen Wrench can be used to tighten the hex head set screws. Further, the size of the bays can easily be adjusted should a different frame configuration be desired. Oar locks, cam straps, a casting platform, an anchor, oar shafts, and oar blades can be purchased separately. Rocky Mountain Rafts makes high-quality, affordable river products, including premier PVC rafts and aluminum fishing frames.
