Offered at www.variousstorenl.com, this 4 track Akai GX-220D Auto-Reverse Tape Recorder. The unit has been tested fairly thoroughly here and mechanically works 95%. The machine turns on plays normally both back and forth. Only mostly on one channel. With much switching, the playback has once in a while functioned with 2 channels. This can also be seen on recording. On source the sound comes in fine on 2 channels, but only one channel is recorded on the tape. Also, the reverse switch gets stuck, resulting in the music sounding backwards. Fast forward and rewind function acceptably. All lights are on. Tape counter is not working. Furthermore, potentiometers and switches creak when operated.
