The emergence of crowdfunding, peer-to-peer lending and cryptocurrencies calls for a more critical examination of these alternative finances in a global context. Bryan Zhang is the Executive Director of Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, based at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. He researches the accumulation and allocation of capital for start-ups and small-medium enterprises through alternative circuits of finance in a geographical and comparative context. Co-authoring some of the most influential industry reports on the state of alternative finance at national and international levels, Bryan uses his expertise to work with institutions such as the Financial Conduct Authority, the European Commission and the World Bank. Bryan is a Research Fellow at the Judge Business School and Senior Fellow at the Financial Innovation Lab.
