On the morning of January 30, officers from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), accompanied by police personnel and a bulldozer, traversed the narrow lanes of Mehrauli, reaching the Sanjay Van area. Mehrauli witnessed the demolition of a 700 -year-old mosque and an adjacent madrasa, along with a small temple, by the DDA. Allegations have surfaced that this demolition contradicts the orders of the high court, as the DDA itself asserted in September that they would not dismantle mosques and other properties under the jurisdiction of the Waqf Board. The high court had specifically directed the DDA to conduct demarcation before any action, emphasizing the delineation of boundaries.
