The Junior race saw a show of force from 57km out by Zoe Backstedt on her 18th birthday to take the double. For the first time in Cycling history the U23 women raced for their own medals. The weather came and went duing an impossible to call Elite Women's race that saw groups coming together at 1km to go for an incomprehensible win in Wollongong, NSW Australia.
