Pentax's 67II, the last great 6X7 camera and the last Pentax 6X7 camera, represented the culmination of more than 30 years and four versions of the ultra-high-end 6X7 lineage from Pentax. The 67II is not perfect, with some copies of it now suffering from intermittently glitchy issues, no repair shops left that are willing to fix them, no spare parts inventory, and a growing list of problems that are no longer repairable. However, getting a working 67II opens a whole range of photographic doors to explore the pinnacle of medium format photography. Due to basic physics, the 6X7 format lends itself well to subject isolation, making it, perhaps, the best format for portrait work. 6X7 imagery balances large negative size, exceptional image detail, and remain relatively simple and affordable thanks to the 120 film format. The 67II is almost certainly one of the best five film cameras ever made. For an entry into 6X7 imagery, it's a great choice thank to its aperture-priority shooting mode and exceptionally stable shutter movement. For 6X7 work, it would be hard to beat a Pentax 67II.
