I have tested it on both with my onespot power brick and didnt really hear any crucial difference on the volume level I use. The headroom might be more apparent if I turned up very loud. I am super happy with my new Blackmore mod Marshall Major replica but that is exclusively for early 70s mark 2 sounds. As Blackmore started using his Aiwa TP1011 as a preamp boost in 1974, all of his tones from that moment on need the aiwa tape recorder. Fortunately for us Bernd made a pedal that sound very much like it, maybe a bit darker but I never played a real Aiwa TP1011 so have no direct comparison.
