Best time to visit this place is during monsoon or after immediate monsoon. July to November is correct time to visit this place. Because this time only we can see water in the lake otherwise that is very dry in summer. I have planned to go to Avalanche by bus from Ooty. Actual bus departure time to Avalanche is 11.30 am in Ooty bus stand. During this journey, we can feel beautiful experience and the nature was mesmerized to me. Jeep safari is also famous in Avalanche but I was unable to go safari. Because minimum 7 persons are needed for safari. But minimum quorum was not available. I was also went to Power house and this location is situated approx. 4 kms distance from Avalanche. I was trekking in the lake area and I felt very adventure that time.
