Making Iver Johnson Revolver Western Grips

Iver Johnson produced a large number of top break 32 and 38 caliber revolvers during the first part of the 20th century. These affordable revolvers were meant to be small and concealable in order to serve as defensive sidearms for the common man. They came in a variety of barrel lengths. This one that I own has an uncommonly seen 4" long barrel. It's length throws off the proportions of the revolver, making the thin, short grips look out of place. Iver Johnson marketed a Western Grip, a one piece wooden grip both thicker and longer than the standard grips. Inspired by those, in this video I make my own wooden grips for the revolver. The result is a much more proportional look and a more comfortable shooting experience. DISCLAIMER All subjects featured on this channel are shown for historical and informational purposes only.
