Qasgirmiut Dancers perform live on the UAF Davis Concert Hall stage as part of the 2023 Festival of Native Arts. Group Bio: Qasgirmiut Dancers was created in 2019, in an endeavor to attract youth that are interested in keeping tradition alive. The group when started was fairly small but has since grown to be one of Bethels most popular groups. The group has held practice in a building called that "Qasgiq," later moving to a local Elders home, in a room called, "The Qasgiq," thus creating the name Qasgirmiut. Through the pandemic, the group refused to go down, as we went searching for places to hold practices through masks which great success. Now, the group is filled with persons from youth to elders.
