Lombok island is a beautiful alternative to the busy island of Bali. If you like trendy restaurants and want to party all night, Bali is the better choice. If you prefer a more quiet, beautiful experience than consider Lombok. We selected 5 surf spots locations starting around the south coast of Lombok near Kuta. Desert Point and Mawi both face similar directions favorable to dry season winds. Desert Point is located on the isolated south west coast of Lombok and is a 2 hour and 20 minute drive (98KM) from Kuta. Much of the lodging in Lombok is centralized in Kuta however it is a short drive to Pantai Aan, Seger, and Gerupuk. Mawi is a little further drive from Kuta but has more favorable winds than places like Seger in the dry season.
