Using a unique card drafting system at the beginning of every gameplay round, Blood Rage has great depth of strategy as board game night players will have to track cards and abilities from their opponents while they try and outplay what was seen during the card drafting. But this wouldn't be an Eric M. Lang board game without mechanics that encourage you to strategically lose certain fights; so tons of your units can die gloriously for tons of victory points. The layers of complexity from this added layer of depth really makes you have to stop and consider what is being drafted and what combo of cards you play. But invading and pillaging to your heart's content may not be the greatest when you consider just how fast and swingy the later rounds can get...
