Wake Up and Breathe UConn

For nearly two years, a multidisciplinary team of clinical providers have been working on an initiative called “Wake Up and Breathe UConn.” The new protocol is aimed at helping ventilated patients get out of bed and off their breathing machines sooner. This in turn will decrease delirium, the number of days in the hospital, and more patients will be able to go directly home versus a skilled nursing facility.
