The 30mm rubber diaphragm washer in an Opella Delchem ball float valve costs less than €2. It takes about 5 minutes to swap out. Over time these little washers get stretched. This is due to water and mechanical force. Eventually the diaphragm valves do not open fully when the cistern is filling. Rather that replace the entire ball float assembly simply buy the diaphragm washer. The washers are universal 30mm type and fit many different models of float valve. Of course, W**dies, B & Quit and the other rip off merchants will try to sell you the entire ball float assembly. In fact, W**dies have an instruction video on how to change a float valve assembly. They sneakily removed commenting from their video because people were linking to videos showing how to save a fortune by just changing the washer diaphragm. Stinking corporate greed. Of course, there are some situations where a completely new assembly is required. If you are unsure get advice from a qualified plumber. Anyway, enjoy this short narrative and save a few bob into the bargin !! This is a personal video diary. Whatever you decide to do after watching it is at your own risk. I remembered to shut off the cold water feed to the cistern before beginning any work.
