Heavy Duty Lifting Magnet

Continuing the ongoing effort to do a deep dive on the various tools and equipment we use in our metal fabrication and machine shop. This video highlights our heavy duty lifting magnets. These megnets are rated to lift 1300lb each. We use them to lift heavy and light steel sheet and plate. These will lift most things over 3/16". So far we have lifted 1" thick plate with them and did not have any issues. These magnets are available on ebay in different sizes and ratings and are not terribly expensive for what they do. These will left any ferrous meal, steel, some stainless steel, iron. Plate, tubing, and has sort of a v-block in the center so possibly some round materials as well, but i haven't tried it on that. We use this to lift plate and sheet steel onto our CNC plasma table. Dont forget to checkout the playlist at the very end of the video for other shop tour equipment reviews.
