Let's take you through the places that we visited in this video. The first stop was Sharda Bhavan. It is a place to cherish traditional South Indian food that is tasty and pocket friendly. Even without any fancy decor, this place is a hit with the patrons. Here we tried some homely curd rice and Kela Bhaji. The curd rice was optimally tangy and refreshing while the raw banana fritter was fluffy and hearty. The second stop was Yewale Amruttulya. This tea stall chain that spread across Mumbai and Pune is where you get amazing Indian tea at an affordable price. It is an upgraded version of your neighbourhood tea stall. Here we tried some masala chai with cream roll. The tea was so good that we ended up having two cups. On the other hand the fresh tasting cream roll ushered in some nostalgia. The third stop was Cafe Mysore. From rasam to vada, dosa to sheera and different types of idli, this quaint South Indian eatery attracts an eclectic crowd from all age groups. Our order included the fascinating Dravid rasam and tomato toast omelette. The former soup is named after ex Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid as he always prefers this drink. With a perfectly spiced gram flour-tomato pancake stuffed inside two bread slices, the second dish was a stunner too. The fourth stop was A Rama Nayak's Udipi Idli House. As the name suggests they specialize in idli and serve a huge variety of it. Being an iconic eatery in the area, it is always bustling with diners. Here we tried a phenomenal phanas idli which is a ripe jackfruit pulp falvoured idli. The blob of white butter added on the top enhanced its luscious taste. The best part of this restaurant is that they have some rigorous food wastage policies in place. The fifth stop was Rama Nayak's Udipi Krishna Boarding where you get only a set meal all served on a banana leaf. The pocket friendly traditional South Indian meal attracts a huge crowd and on most of the days you have to wait in queue for your turn. The spread consisted of fritters, rice, curries, papad and dessert. The sixth and last stop was Jai Bhavani Neera Kendra. We went there for freshly extracted sap from a palm tree. This refreshing drink is only available till noon.
