Breaking the silence - the 2023 SpongeBob Community Rant

Some background on longtime tension in the SpongeBob speedrunning space, along with explanation as to why some people haven't been around this year. Staying quiet about this has only caused rumors to spread, so this is unfortunately the better of two bad options. On the internet, not acknowledging accusations is perceived as guilt. I've spent many years supporting subcommunities and individuals playing these games only to feel my effort was not appreciated outside of those overlapping with my own streaming community. For these reasons I've withdrawn my effort for the past 2 years and redirected it to my own space, as I find it just as effective for demonstrating my passion for BfBB while allowing time for other non-BfBB related activities my viewers also enjoy. I find it incredibly frustrating when people point fingers at me for their own spaces surrounding BfBB having less attention over the years considering how many resources and opportunities I offered for my first 4-5 years of streaming the game. It's not even like I stopped creating resources altogether, they are just much more focused on entertaining my viewers, as they should be. When I've overseen and encouraged experienced runners to help develop the online learning site, supplied all runners with a thorough 3+ hour tutorial and 2+ hour history saga upholding all runners on pedestals regardless of their contributions, donated my own earnings to prize pools for the runners and charities benefitting the image of our community, and stuck my neck out to defend groups within our community which otherwise would have been left marginalized, I would hope by now some of these people would realize - even if they feel entitled to it - that one man cannot simply do everything. Before the pandemic, there were several runners who cared about the community aspect of our game as much as I did. For one reason or another, people get busy and move on. I wish my detractors could see that for what it is, rather than blaming the person who tried the hardest. Because those who blame had not tried at all themselves. If you plan on commenting regarding anyone mentioned, just keep it civil/respectful. Thanks.
