Situa-se no Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela em pleno vale aberto pelo antigo glaciar lá existente. Banhada pela ribeira de Loriga onde a nascente é no planalto da serra. É bastante conhecida pelas suas águas frias e límpidas. A beleza natural deste local é incrível. São ainda visíveis vestígios de relevos acidentados que dão ao local um grande valor paisagístico. Esses vestígios permitem a prática de algumas atividades como percursos pedestres ou desportos de natureza. Conta também com infraestruturas de apoio à praia. Um parque de estacionamento, casas de banho, posto de primeiros socorros e um parque de merendas onde pode usufruir das suas refeições. Possui uma área de banhos vigiada por nadadores salvadores e acesso pedonal à zona de banhos. Existe um parque para bicicletas, um bar com esplanada, um ecoponto e ainda um parque infantil para que as crianças se possam divertir a valer. Para os aventureiros dos percursos pedestres esta é uma zona fantástica para explorar, encontrando por ali uma ponte romana e alguns produtos artesanais locais. Foi por todos estes motivos que a Quercus atribui-lhe o galardão de ouro e, nas 7 Maravilhas – Praias de Portugal na categoria de Praias Fluviais, ficou como uma das finalistas. It is located in the Serra da Estrela Natural Park in the middle of a valley opened by the old glacier there. Bathed by the stream of Loriga where the source is in the plateau of the mountains. It is well known for its cold and clear waters. The natural beauty of this place is incredible. There are still visible traces of uneven reliefs that give the place a great scenic value. These vestiges allow the practice of some activities such as walking trails or nature sports. It also has beach support infrastructure. A car park, bathrooms, first aid station and a picnic area where you can enjoy your meals. It has a bathing area guarded by lifeguards and pedestrian access to the bathing area. There is a bicycle park, a bar with a terrace, a recycling center and even a playground for children to have fun. For adventurers on footpaths, this is a fantastic area to explore, finding a Roman bridge and some local craft products. It was for all these reasons that Quercus awarded it the gold award and, in the 7 Maravilhas – Praias de Portugal category, in the River Beaches category, it was one of the finalists.
