In honor of the upcoming 4K release of "The Outsiders," here is some ultra-rare footage of the premiere of Francis Ford Coppola's "The Outsiders" at Lone Star School in Fresno, California back in March of 1983. I had purchased this material decades ago from a seller on eBay. Hosted by Michelle Russell, we get a look at the students who wrote to Coppola asking him to turn the S.E. Hinton novel into a motion picture. Included are actors C. Thomas Howell, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Patrick Swayze, Leif Garrett, Darren Dalton, and producer Fred Roos. *The quality of the footage is very poor, but given its extremely rare condition, I still felt that this material would be of value.
